The KPL Youth Department is a welcoming, friendly place for the young and the young-at heart. You’ll find us at the bottom of the stairs just inside the library’s front entrance and to the left. Come on in and see what we’re up to!

  • Weekly story time programs occur during the school year and the summer. Story Time is offered Tuesdays at 10 AM. Toddler Time takes place on Fridays at 9:30 & 10:30 AM.
  • Guest speakers on a variety of topics.
  • Family fun programs offered evenings or Saturdays.
  • Special programming on library use, children’s literature, & other topics for school classrooms, child care center groups, and other educational groups.
  • Summer Reading Program—featuring many special events such as fisheries, concerts, parades, magic shows, animal visits, and lots more!
  • Red Cross babysitting clinic.
  • Book collecting services for teachers, child care providers, home schooling families and others. Ask about our extended loan periods.
  • Readers advisory on Caldecott, Newbery, and other award-winning books.
  • The Cosy Corner: a special place for very young children.
  • Books, theme-based curricula, & other resources for parents and teachers
